Hair Lust: Redken All Soft Shampoo & Conditioner
I'm back! I know, you guys probably forgot about me (insert broken heart here) but hopefully you'll remember me now :) I've got plenty to talk to you guys about to! Lemme tell you about a product that I've fallen back in love with, you know how you collect so much stuff that you actually forget about your old favourites? Yep? Nope? Well I plan on telling you anyways about the
Redken All Soft Shampoo & Conditioner.

One of my gripes with my hair is that due to the styling and basically trauma I put my hair through in order to look like a civilised human being is that my hair is prone to dryness, brittleness, breakage, dullness, and all the other no-no's of hair! I have plenty of ways of combatting these issues and currently my hair is in the healthiest condition it's been in in about 3 or 4 years, I haven't bleached my hair in 2 years and only now my blonde has started to stop growing through (except for an odd blonde patch on the back of my hair). I have quite an array in my hair-care army that keeps me looking fabulous and you all know how much I adore the
John Frieda Full Repair Shampoo & Conditioner and the
L'Oreal EverPure Sulfate Free Color Care Systme Moisture Reparative Masque (it's the pink and purple one!) and I've actually owned the
All Soft duo for quite some time, but since I was loving the
John Frieda set since I came back from the UK in April it remained unused in my shower.
My only issue with All Soft is that they purposely create the shampoo bottle to store 50ml more than the conditioner as what is clearly a marketing scheme so that you buy the conditioner again, since we all use far more conditioner than shampoo; especially us girls desperate to restore dry hair. The price isn't totally cheap and is upwards of $20 a bottle (I can't recall the price right now), but at Hairhouse Warehouse they'll often sell giftpacks with this duo at a discounted price.
All Soft doesn't have a particular scent to it which I appreciate, as strong fragrance (as great as it is to have hair that smells amazing!) it isn't good for my scalp condition. The shampoo gently cleanses my hair without making it feel dry, dehydrated or tangled. I'd say it prepares your hair with the right level of cleanliness in order to absorb the conditioner, but not leave your hair with build-up or any greasiness, which is typical of moisturising products. It has a peachy-beige colour and is like a silky gel, whereas the conditioner is a buttery white cream that doesn't (again) have any hint of greasiness or oil to it. I like to leave my conditioner on for about 3 minutes or just while I'm shaving or anything else that you do in the shower and my hair feels significantly softer afterwards. I love that after I shower using this product my curls (even though I never leave my hair natural for the sake of people's eyes and my own self-esteem) are a lot more defined and healthy looking, whereas if I've used bad products my hair doesn't curl and rather becomes a mass of frizzy undefined waves.
I think once I finish my bottles of the John Frieda duo (which are almost out) I'll start getting back into All Soft again, I never really thought that much of it before my holiday but now that my hair's in a better condition I can actually see it's effectiveness more now than ever. I can certainly recommend All Soft to anyone who wants just that; hair that is soft all over!

August Lust: Things I'm On The Hunt For!
Hi babes! Sorry I've been absent lately, I haven't had anything to write about, you guys got any ideas? Anyways, I've been around window shopping and spotted a few things here and there I've really fallen in love with or products I'm lusting after, these include products outside of the beauty realm too! Let's get started:
Fairy Lights: Typo
I was in Typo the other day with my boyfriend and I spotted some adorable fairy lights! I don't want these ones specifically, but I saw ones that were in a round tub with flowers and fairy lights, should have bought them then and there... I still plan to though, I just think fairy lights are such a cute, whimsical and feminine touch to any interior and I'd love to have them hanging on the wall in my bedroom. I believe they were roughly $10.99 and they're sold at all Typo stores.
As much as I love my chest of drawers with all of my stickers on it from when I was growing up, I have had a lot of my room redone (I repainted it and got a new bed at the start of the year) I really want some cohesion with my furniture. My bed is a modern white stained oak kind of wood, my desk and desk chair are pale pink from Ikea, my walls are pastel yellow and then my bedside table and chest of drawers are just out of place with everything else in my room. I like minimalist, modern and elegant furniture and I would feel a lot better if everything in my room just matched, then I could film more videos in there! I believe these both cost around $399 to $499, too much =_=
L'Oreal Paris Absolut Repair Cellular Lactic Acid Shampoo and Conditioner
My boyfriend's cousin (who is
gorgeous by the way, thanks Anthea!) posted a picture of this shampoo and conditioner on instagram and said that it's the best combination if you're trying to grow your hair. Obviously I want super long fabulous hair, but it's pretty difficult considering all of my hair's implications. So before I can afford hair extensions I definitely wanna try the
L'Oreal Absolut Cellular Repair Lactic Acid shampoo and conditioner, I've heard practically nothing but good things and I adore
L'Oreal for hair products, they make my
favourite hair mask!
M.A.C Carbon and M.A.C Black Tied
Carbon
Black Tied
I'm really keen on getting a great black eyeshadow that I can use for sultry smokey eyes in the future, the only black I own is the little section of my Coastal Scents 88 palette, and I'm yet to find a brand with such an amazing range that includes a great matte black and shimmer black that's easily accessible to me, and as strange as that may sound to some M.A.C is the choice for me. Carbon is an intense deep, dark matte black, whereas Black Tied is a velvet finish deep black with a silvery/white shimmer. I can't decide between which I'd like more, but I think that drugstore brands are much more likely to stock a shimmery black colour than a matte one, so if it comes to it I'll probably get Carbon from M.A.C and look into a shimmery black, do you guys know any good ones?
That's all I'm looking into right now, if I get any of these items I'll definitely be letting you guys know and in the place of beauty products I'll review them for you, hope you haven't missed me too much :)

Hair Lust: John Frieda Full Repair Touch Up FlyAway Tamer
For many girls, frizzy flyaway hair can be one of the many bane of your mane's life. When it's hot out, for hair frizzes because its dry from the sun or you're sweaty, when it's cold out your hair gets all puffy from the moisture and the rain, or maybe the wind makes your hair rough like mine? And even during normal weather we still battle frizzy hair. This is true for girls with curly hair, wavy hair and even naturally straight hair, who own straighteners just to nab those last few sneaky hairs. John Frieda have come up with a simple, logical, effective and portable solution!
I hadn't heard about this component of my current favourite
John Frieda Full Repair line, but immediately when I saw it I thought "this is clever, and I need it!". On my way to see a friend and shop it started raining literally 10 seconds within being outside, even with an umbrella and my scarf covering my head my hair can't escape the moisture :( So even if it stays relatively straight I still end up with puffy, fluffy hair. I was in Priceline (my favourite store for this whole year, I've fallen in love with pharmacies!) with a friend showing her the
Full Repair Shampoo & Conditioner and talking about how much I loved it when I saw a mascara shaped product, confusing at first I then realised the genius, the
John Frieda Full Repair Touch Up FlyAway Tamer. I immediately figured it'd be the perfect solution to my fluffy hair, plus even after I straighten my hair normally I have a lot of flyaways around the roots of my hair and on my fringe, definitely a must need product for me.

As soon as I purchased it (with the help of my redeemable $8.16 discount voucher I earned with my Priceline points, score!) I went to the bathrooms to test it, and voila, it really does do the trick! Touch Up Flyaway Tamer houses 14ml of serum, mostly made of water, dimethicone (a silicone), antistatic film-forming ingredients, the main star of the Full Repair line; lightweight moisturising inca inchi oil, synthetic preservatives (including ones that have mild anti-fungal properties) and tocopherol; a form of vitamin E. Immediately after application my friend and I both noticed a difference, my hair looked sleek and shiny, like I hadn't even left the house, it actually looked healthier than it did in the morning! It leaves your hair slightly damp for about 20 seconds but dries to a smooth and soft finish, no crunch or grease here.
I can absolutely assure you all that this will become a staple in my haircare routine, and I recommend you include it in yours if it sounds like this product fits the bill for you, sure does for me!
John Frieda Full Repair Touch-Up FlyAway Tamer retails at supermarkets, beauty stores and pharmacies (such as Priceline) for $15

Hair Lust!
Since I had my last haircut and colour in late March my hair has been really on the right track, and I'm thanking that partially to the most amazing (drugstore!) hair mask, the (be prepared for this mouthful) L'Oreal EverPure Sulfate Free Color Care System Moisture Reparative Masque, phew!
I bought this from Coles when they had a half price sale on everything from the L'Oreal sulfate free line, usually a bit pricey for a supermarket-sold brand (around $16+) but all the products were reduced to $7. I haven't heard the best news about people's first experiences with sulfate free shampoos and conditioners, and I've really been loving my John Frieda Full Repair way too much, so I thought I'd give the mask a try first, and thank goodness I did!
I've gotten a whole heap of compliments (yay!) on how healthy and shiny my hair looks, its really been behaving for the past two months and my colour still looks great too. My only qualm with this product is the inclusion of rosemary and peppermint, personally it makes my hair smell a bit like a roast lamb and the smell lingers for the next day or two. More-so the fact that
rosemary and
peppermint are both known skin irritants, and because I have seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp I have to be very careful not to agitate it, so when I do apply this mask I only apply the remainder on the top of my head, concentrating on my ends and mid lengths first.
The texture of the mask is more like a thick cream, rather than a slippery gel like a lot of masks, one tub will last you quite a long time and it honestly is the best hair mask I've ever used, believe me I've tried dozens of them!
L'Oreal Everpure is available in most supermarkets and pharmacies in Australia.
Labels: hair, hair lust, hair mask, hair masque, hair treatment, irritating ingredients, l'oreal, l'oreal paris, recommended, scalp, seborrheic dermatitis, sulfate free
